The truth about Vietnam!
On the latest speakeasy, we talked about this awful new documentary series on Netflix called Turning Point: Vietnam. It is amazing how these jackals continue to try to put the blame on the Vietnam War on JFK. JFK sent ZERO Combat troops into Nam, and LBJ put 500 thousand Combat troops there. The documentary tries to say that there is no difference between combat troops and Advisors. This is Hogwash! An advisor is a trainer and taught not to engage the enemy unless fired upon. The documentary also made a big deal out of the deaths of American soldiers in Vietnam under JFK. In 1961, there were 16 American deaths, and in 1962, there were 43. Most of these were friendly fire incidents. Under LBJ, 58 Thousand American soldiers were killed.
Let us look at the state of Vietnam before JFK took office. The French and the British tried to colonize Asia/Africa. What started as a French Missionary movement turned into the full colonization of Nam by the French. President Truman and then President Eisenhower started to fund the French war effort, and with the strong backing of Allen and John Foster Dulles, by 1952, the United States started financially backing 80% of the French war effort. By 1954, the losing French wanted to negotiate a way out of Vietnam, but the Dulles Brothers informed them that they could not! During the disaster at Dien Bien Phu, John Foster Dulles pushed for Operation Vulture, which called for 60 bombers, 150 Air Fighters, plus 3 atomic bombs. The British refused to back this plan, so Eisenhower backed out of it. However, the Dulles brothers privately tried to give the French Atomic Bombs. The French refused because they said it would kill their own soldiers who are entrenched in the jungles. Eisenhower's Vice President Richard Nixon, who would later expand the Vietnam War to Cambodia and Laos but still try to blame JFK, now recommends to Eisenhower that we send in US COMBAT Troops. This is in 1954, so could someone wake up Dan Rather and tell him that we were involved in Vietnam LONG before JFK took office. The CIA under Allen Dulles's man in the military, General Ed Lansdale, would later create the false state of South Vietnam to create the appearance of a civil war instead of a colonial operation. So you see, America is well entrenched in NAM, long before JFK takes office.
The documentary and that awful Dan Rather also NEVER mention NSAM263, which was JFK's withdrawal policy. Greg Burnham and others confirmed that the first 1000 advisers were sent back home, so at the time of JFK's death, the official US policy in Vietnam was withdrawal. Someone can also wake up Frederick Longveille and ask him how JFK made it hard for LBJ to get out of NAM, when all he had to do was NOT reverse his withdrawal policy! Don't complicate things, folks. Vietnam was an issue before and after JFK. If he lived, it would have been an issue for others to handle besides the US. Like Edmond Gulliam told JFK in 1952, a guerrilla war in Southeast Asia is not winnable, the young Vietnamese would rather die than go back under the thumb of Colonialism!
